According to local stories bagnet was served to Spanish conquistadors when they first arrived in the shores of Ilocos.  Bagnet is the famous twice cooked pork belly.  This traditional way of cooking is a form of preservation called bagnetin in Ilocano.  A tastier and crunchier version of chicharon, bagnet is best served with bagoong and tomatoes or dipped into some sukang Iloko. This one is a treat you’ll certainly crave for more.
